SKF Copperhead on-line system
Improve reliability – by early fault detection
For an aggregates producer, it meant saving 4,000 euros by avoiding downtime.
Unplanned production stops caused by faults in mining machinery always cost more time and money than planned stops for maintenance and repair. With the SKF Copperhead fault detection system, evolving faults can be detected before they cause unplanned stops. Using the latest vibration and temperature measurement techniques, the system monitors machinery while in operation to detect a range of faults such as loose parts, bearing and gear damage, lack of lubrication and high temperatures.
The pre-engineered, easy-to-install system can be used as a stand-alone device or integrated into a plant automation system. SKF Copperhead communicates critical data that can be analyzed worldwide through a web-based link, either by SKF or trained staff.
